Solar charging
BetterCharge needs solar production visible in your Tesla account. Tesla solar works on its own — a Powerwall is optional.
Delete your account
In the app: Settings → Delete account. This also disconnects your Tesla account from BetterCharge.
Common questions
Which cars work with BetterCharge?
Tesla vehicles that your Tesla account can control through Tesla's official API. Some features depend on your vehicle model and software.
Do I need solar panels?
Manual charging control and live status work without solar. Solar-aware charging needs solar production visible in your Tesla account; a Powerwall is optional.
Why isn't my car charging when my panels are producing?
Check that the car is plugged in at your home site, that solar charging is turned on for that car, and that your charge limit hasn't been reached. Solar output also has to exceed your home's usage.
Is my Tesla password safe?
You sign in on Tesla's own page. BetterCharge never sees or stores your Tesla password — it only receives an access token you can revoke at any time.
How does the free trial work?
Your first month is free (once per Apple ID). After that it's $6.99/month until you cancel in your Apple ID settings.
